Alfredo Sarno

Alfredo was born in Naples (Italy) on April 28, 1983. He started to study drums at the age of 14 and, after few years, the classical percussions at the Conservatory of Music G. Martucci in Salerno where he was graduated with maximum qualifications.

In the same period he discovered jazz and the traditional percussions of the South Italy being involved in many different projects (Tamburellando, Batuna Samba Group, Joe Blow, Move, Orchestra della Basilica di Santa Chiara, Orchestra del Conservatorio).

He participate to the summer courses of "Nuoro Jazz" where he won the scholarship "Billy Sechi" that offered him the possibility to partake at Siena Jazz workshop. In 2008, thanks to convervatory, he entered in the project of "Erasmus Placement" in Granada and in 2009 an other Erasmus in Switzerland in the "Houte Ecole De Musique".

In Granada he was fascinated from Flamenco, he took part in Trio Gelem and in some projects of flamenco fusion with the guitarist Dan Ben Lior.

After the experience in Geneva he went back to Granada where he actually resides. In this city he participates on several projects (Circo Acustico , Trio Beija Flor, Juana la Cilantra Company, Across Collective, Hispanistán, 3 x 4 , Chico Ocaña, Alberto Alcalá, Hispanistán, Namu - Funk from Mali)

Actually he is performing with Histanistán, Sergio Albacete Cuarteto, OYK Big Band, D. D. New Gutbucket Academy, the guitarist Miguel Martins and in various project where are involved some of most talented musician of the Granada music scene.
